Q:Hey Blue, the last page confused me a bit. Exactly how does Military Dude thinks the Saturday visit is for Brendan's benefit? I thought Brendan was pissed because of his dismissive tone.
Brendan invited the colonel to the workshop because he wanted to give Al a chance to deal with these people on his own turf, somewhere that doesn’t make him feel exposed or uncomfortable. Al recognizes this. This is also the reasoning behind Brendan inviting Lucille along, too, although Al doesn’t know this, having not been there for their bar-side chat.
Lee mistook Brendan’s gesture as another example of what he sees as Brendan (and Lucille) “outshining” Al, who is clearly better and more deserving of the agency’s attention in every way for *~*some reason*~*. He’s telling Al to put Brendan back in his place, as if this will be better for everyone involved. And Al did not refuse.
