Crazy comics pitch brought to you by a dream I had last week:

After a freak cosmic anomaly destroys a spacecraft carrying humans from one colony planet to another, only 5 escape: a cerebral biologist, a tough retired space marine, her moody adopted 11-year old daughter, and an energetic 7-year old boy who is orphaned in the disaster and was led to safety by his pet sheepdog.

Aboard a cramped escape shuttle and lost in uncharted space, their prospects seem bleak until they run into a seemingly derelict ship floating in space.  They find that they can restore life-support systems to the ship, but also find out that it has its own occupants: a friendly two-headed alien who has been lost in space for years, with no idea of how to get back home.

They all agree to combine their ships’ resources (indeed, they combine their ships) in the hopes that they can somehow find themselves back to civilization. In the meantime, though, there’s a lot of exciting adventures that can happen to the oddball family on-board.

TL:DR - think “Lost In Space” meets “Modern Family,” with a dash of all those kid-friendly Canadian sci-fi shows from the early 90s. Give me money to draw this, please!
